What We Do

1. Complimentary In Home Consultation

   Our process begins with an In Home Consultation to put together an estimate for your new granite countertop or quartz countertop. This step allows us to answer any questions you have about the process of doing a kitchen renovation, see what type of surfaces are currently in your home as well as get an overall idea of the look and feel you would like to achieve with your renovation. With over 160 stone choices and colours available this is an important part of our process as it enables us to assist you in finding the perfect piece to suit your home and your tastes.

2. Selection of stone

   This step is the most exciting part of the process but can also be overwhelming with the amount of choices available. Our professional sales team guides you through our indoor warehouse and answers any questions you have as well as educates you on the types of stone available and which will best fit your project. With access to the largest selection of stone and colours in Calgary you are sure to find the perfect piece for your project.

3. Laser Templating

   With the use of industry leading laser technology we are able to get the most accurate measurement of the area that is going to be covered in stone as well as an accurate measurement of the surrounding walls for a perfectly customized fit.

4. Digital Slab layout

   Once you have selected your stone and we have templated your project, our Computer Automated Drafting (CAD) Department takes the digital template and prepares it for the manufacturing process. One part of this process is the digital slab layout. Using their expertise, the CAD Department lays out all areas of your project on a photograph of the actual slab to ensure that we are maximizing the usage of the stone as well as retaining the integrity of the flow of the stone. The digital layout stage allows you to participate in any stone flow design, approve all seam work and view the actual layout in your home. This step ensures that you are completely satisfied with the look of the stone before it goes into your home.

5. CNC Fabrication

   The use of state of the art CNC manufacturing equipment and advanced water jet technology ensures absolute precision and accuracy when fabricating stone. All the information from the laser templating and digital slab layout is inputted directly into our computer system which is then communicated to our manufacturing equipment.

6. Quality Craftmanship

   After being fabricated, the stone is then turned over to our highly skilled craftsmen. They diamond polish the edges by hand to ensure the finish on the sides is the same quality of the finish on the surface. Each piece is then inspected to ensure that it meets our standards before being installed in your home.

7. Installation

   Before being installed in your home, our installation and finishing team apply a commercial grade sealer to your stone to help protect and maintain the elegance of your stone. Our team of professional installers take the utmost care while in your home and are happy to answer any questions for you.

8. Warranty

   The Granite Shop warranty covers defects in material, fabrication and installation. This warranty applies only to granite or manufactured stone installed in its original location by The Granite Shop for a period of 5 years from its original purchase.
