Limestone is formed at the bottom of lakes and seas as organic matters settle to the bottom. This sedimentary rock forms over thousands and millions of years as layers build up adding more and more weight causing chemical reactions which harden the sediments into solid stone. The result of this process is soft, earthy tones that compliment a wide variety of color schemes. Limestone has the same properties as marble and travertine making it an ideal choice for low traffic areas such as bathrooms and fireplaces.
